§138c Samples

Summary

The Secretary must give any lab that applies for accreditation test samples to check how well the lab can measure chemicals left in farm products. The lab must test the samples using methods the Secretary has approved, or other methods shown to work just as well under the rules for this program, and send the results to the Secretary on the forms and by the date the Secretary requires (as described in section 138a). The Secretary will review those results to decide if the lab can do accurate residue testing. Labs that are already accredited must get these test samples at least two times a year.
