Title 7 › Chapter 35A— PRICE SUPPORT OF AGRICULTURAL COMMODITIES › Subchapter I— GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 1421d
Collect farm data from growers so the Department can make crop reports during the growing season. The reports must describe crop conditions in each State and include simple explanations and comparisons to help people understand them. Each year, survey producers about supply, acres, production, where crops go, and prices for 25 fresh-market vegetables, 3 processing vegetables, 6 fruits and nuts, 17 forage and turf seeds, 50 vegetable seeds, and maple syrup. Those annual reports for the States the Secretary chooses must be approved by the Secretary of Agriculture before release. Fruit and nut tree inventories must be surveyed and reported every 3 to 5 years and also approved before release. Money as needed may be provided to carry out these duties.
