Title 7 › Chapter 37— SEEDS › Subchapter IV— GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 1593a
Grain sent for public testing must be checked for selected field performance traits and for its internal end-use qualities, as the Secretary decides. The test results must be provided to the Secretary. The Secretary must share the variety performance information with plant breeders, producers, and end users. The Secretary must also regularly run, compile, and publish a survey of grain varieties grown commercially in the United States. The Secretary will compare those surveys with applied research on variety quality to track general quality characteristics and production trends, and then share that information as described above.
