§1593a Seed Variety Information and Survey

Summary

The Secretary must test grain sent in for public testing for certain growing traits and for how well it works for its end uses. The test results must be given to the Secretary and shared with plant breeders, farmers, and grain users. The Secretary must also regularly carry out and publish a survey of grain varieties grown for sale in the United States. The survey results must be studied together with available research on grain quality to track general quality traits and trends, and those findings must be shared with breeders, growers, and users.
