§1635f Mandatory Packer Reporting of Boxed Beef Sales

Summary

Packer processing plant officers or their official representatives must tell the Secretary, at least twice each reporting day (at least once before and once after 12:00 noon Central Time), details about every negotiated boxed beef sale. For each lot they must report the price in dollars per hundredweight on an F.O.B. plant basis, the number of boxes sold, and basic traits of the lot such as the grade (USDA Choice or better, USDA Select, or ungraded no-roll product), the cut, and the trim specification. The Secretary must make that reported information available to the public at least twice each reporting day.
