Title 7 › Chapter 38— DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS › Subchapter VI— LABELING OF CERTAIN FOOD › § 1639i
States and local governments may not make or keep any rule that forces labeling of food or seed sold across state lines about whether it is genetically engineered or was made using genetic engineering. This ban includes food served in restaurants, any claim that a product contains an ingredient made with genetic engineering, and similar label words the Secretary of Agriculture decides. "Food" has the same meaning as in Title 21, section 321.
