The Secretary can award grants to eligible groups to help U.S. farmworkers who are citizens or legally present get, keep, move up in, or return to farm jobs. Grants can pay for things like farm job skills training, job and market information, transportation and short-term transit housing, workplace literacy and English help, health and safety training (including protecting the food supply), and other services the Secretary allows. No more than 15 percent of the yearly grant money can be used for administrative costs. Funding is authorized as needed for fiscal years 2008 through 2013, and $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2014 through 2018. Eligible entity — an organization that meets the program’s rules to receive these grants.
