§2036b Retail Food Store and Recipient Trafficking

Summary

Provides extra money to the Agriculture Department to help stop trafficking and fraud in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program by making checks on stores and recipients stronger. Part of the funds must pay for computer tools like data mining, data warehousing, and other information technology to run SNAP and enforce program rules. Up to $5,000,000 may be appropriated for each fiscal year 2014 through 2023. The Treasury must also transfer at least $15,000,000 for fiscal year 2014 from available Treasury funds. Those $15,000,000 stay available until spent. The Agriculture Secretary must accept and use that money without more approval, and it must add to, not replace, other federal SNAP funding.
