Title 7 › Chapter 55— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2217
The Secretary of Agriculture can pick USDA officers, agents, or employees to give or take oaths, affirmations, or affidavits when those statements are needed in cases enforcing laws the Department handles. If the USDA person signs the statement and it has the Department’s seal, federal courts can accept it and treat it the same as if a court clerk had handled it, without extra proof the USDA worker was authorized.
