Title 7 › Chapter 55— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2219a
The Secretary of Agriculture can pay USDA employees who work in meat or poultry plants covered by the Federal Meat Inspection Act or the Poultry Products Inspection Act for overtime and holiday work, using pay rates the Secretary sets while following laws about minimum wage and maximum hours. The Secretary can also have the plant repay those overtime and holiday payments at the same rates, and any money repaid can be used to cover those costs until spent without needing another appropriation or being limited to a single fiscal year.
