Title 7 › Chapter 55— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2241a
Lets the Secretary, through the Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics, sell, trade, or otherwise get rid of animals, animal products, plants, and plant products used for research. The Department can keep the money from those sales without extra budget approval and can use it to buy similar items or pay for their care, with no yearly limit. Animal — a living animal. Animal product — a product from an animal. Plant — a living plant. Plant product — a product from a plant. Does not apply to free distribution of new seed varieties and germplasm under section 2201.
