Title 7 › Chapter 55— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2250a
Department of Agriculture funds can be used to build buildings or other structures on land owned by states, local governments, corporations, or private owners. This is allowed even if other laws would stop it, except it does not affect the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act (15 U.S.C. 714 et seq.) or sections 3111 and 3112 of title 40, and it must follow normal cost limits. Before building, the Department must get the right to use the land for the structure’s expected life, including the right to remove the structure later, and it may spend money to obtain long-term leases or similar agreements.
