Title 7 › Chapter 55— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2268a
The Department of Agriculture may acquire land or an interest in land by buying, trading, or other means when needed for its official work. It must not get land this way unless the money for it is provided in the proper appropriation or another law. Money the Department has for buying land can also pay for options to buy land. But no more than $1 may be spent for each option on any particular tract or tracts of land, unless another appropriation or law allows more.
