Title 7 › Chapter 55— DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE › § 2269
The Secretary of Agriculture may accept and manage gifts, bequests, or property for the Department. For federal income, estate, and gift tax rules, those items count as gifts to the United States. Money gifts, sale proceeds, and insurance money not used to fix the property must go into a separate Treasury fund and can be spent only on the Secretary’s order. The Secretary may make rules to carry this out.
