§2303 Prohibited Practices

Summary

Handlers must not pressure, threaten, or stop a producer from joining or leaving a group of producers. They also must not refuse to buy from a producer or treat a producer worse in price, amount, quality, or any buying terms because of the producer’s membership or contract with a producer group. Handlers cannot force a producer to sign, break, or end membership or marketing deals, or pay or give gifts to make a producer quit a group. Handlers may not spread lies about the money or management of producer groups or handlers. They also may not team up with others to do any of these forbidden acts.
