The Secretary may publish certain materials about protected plants in whatever format is chosen. This includes descriptions of protected plant varieties with drawings and photos, the Plant Variety Protection Office’s official journal and yearly indexes, and pamphlets of the plant variety protection laws, rules, and other Office publications. The Secretary may set up public places to search these records and may, from time to time, share technological and other public information from the Office to help plant breeding. The Secretary may also exchange these publications, and may swap U.S. descriptions, drawings, and photos for similar ones from other countries.
