Title 7 › Chapter 64— AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH, EXTENSION, AND TEACHING › Subchapter VI— 1890 LAND-GRANT COLLEGE FUNDING › § 3223
Provides grants to colleges covered by the 1890 Act, including Tuskegee, so they can buy and improve research facilities and equipment, including agricultural libraries, and work with State agricultural experiment stations. Congress set aside $10,000,000 for each fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 1982; Sept. 30, 1983; Sept. 30, 1984; Sept. 30, 1985; Sept. 30, 1986; and Sept. 30, 1987; the money stays available until spent. Up to 4% can pay program administration. The rest pays for equipment, land, and building work for food and agricultural research. The Secretary of Agriculture sets grant terms and rules. Federal funds may not be used for an institution’s overhead.
