Title 7 › Chapter 68— AGRICULTURAL SUBTERMINAL FACILITIES › § 3701
Says a strong, efficient system to temporarily store and move large amounts of farm products is essential for the success of farming, for rural communities, and for the nation's economic health. It finds that movement has been hurt by a lack of temporary storage, not enough rail cars, and poor tracks and rural roads. Says building temporary storage and multimodal terminals (places where goods can move between trucks, trains, and ships) at key locations will help. Those sites must be carefully planned so farmers benefit and the most efficient shipping methods are used for home and export markets.
