§4003 Study of Potential for Expansion of United States Agricultural Export Markets; Report to President and Congress

Summary

The Secretary of Agriculture, working with the U.S. Trade Representative and any other federal agencies needed, must study how U.S. farm exports can be expanded and how those exports might be used to get natural resources or other goods the United States needs. The Secretary must finish the study and send a report to the President and Congress before June 30, 1981. The study must look ahead five years and cover world food, feed, and fiber needs; U.S. and world production capability; possible new or larger foreign markets for U.S. farm products; chances to make international trades of U.S. farm goods for natural resources (including energy) or other needed items; and the steps the United States must take to increase exports and obtain needed resources by trading agricultural products.
