Title 7 › Chapter 73— FARMLAND PROTECTION POLICY › § 4202
The Department of Agriculture must work with other federal agencies to make rules that show how federal programs cause farmland to be changed to nonfarm uses. Federal agencies must use those rules to count converted land, identify and try to reduce harmful effects, and, as much as possible, make federal programs fit with state, local, and private efforts to protect farmland. The Department may also share information with states, local governments, people, and groups to help restore, keep, and improve farmland.
