Title 7 › CHAPTER 76 — DAIRY RESEARCH AND PROMOTION › SUBCHAPTER I — DAIRY PROMOTION PROGRAM › § 4514
The Secretary of Agriculture must send several reports to the House Committee on Agriculture and the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. By July 1, 1984, the Secretary must report on what would happen if national milk rules like California’s were used, covering seven areas including consumer acceptance and consumption, nutrition for young and older people, better enforcement to prevent fraud, producer pricing, fewer Commodity Credit Corporation purchases, year‑round and regionally consistent quality, and consumer prices. By December 31, 1984, the Secretary must give recommendations on changing the milk parity formula to fit modern production and look at whether to limit total yearly payments to producers under section 1446(d). By April 15, 1985, the Secretary must report on how well the paid diversion program under section 1446(d) worked. Starting July 1, 1985, and each July 1 after that, the Secretary must send an annual report on the dairy promotion and research order (7 U.S.C. 4501 et seq.), including a full accounting of funds received and spent by the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board and an independent review of the program’s effectiveness.
