Information a business gives under this law must be kept secret and used only for statistical purposes. Any Department of Agriculture worker who, without written permission from the Secretary of Agriculture, shares or publishes that information commits a crime and, if convicted, can be fined $300–$1,000, jailed up to one year, or both.
