Title 7 › Chapter 20— DUMPING OR DESTRUCTION OF INTERSTATE PRODUCE › § 491
After June 30, 1927, anyone who receives fruits, vegetables, melons, dairy, poultry, or other perishable farm products in interstate commerce or in the District of Columbia for someone else must not, without a good reason, destroy, abandon, or dump that produce, either directly or by working with others. Knowingly lying about the produce or failing to report it truthfully with intent to cheat is a misdemeanor. Conviction can bring a fine of $100 to $3,000, up to one year in jail, or both.
