Title 7 › Chapter 83— AGRICULTURAL COMPETITIVENESS AND TRADE › Subchapter II— AGRICULTURAL TRADE INITIATIVES › Part B— Foreign Agricultural Service › § 5234
Congress supports the foreign market development cooperator program and wants it and its private partners to grow. The Secretary of Agriculture may give agricultural commodities owned by the Commodity Credit Corporation to cooperator organizations for projects that expand U.S. markets. Those commodities must be extra, not a replacement for appropriated market-development funds. The Secretary must prevent conflicts of interest and is asked to set up a consistent, objective way to evaluate cooperator programs.
