§5401 Establishment of Agricultural Council on Environmental Quality

Summary

Creates an Agricultural Council on Environmental Quality inside the Department of Agriculture. The Council reports directly to the Secretary and must carry out this chapter and lead and coordinate the Department’s environmental policies and programs. Members are the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, the Assistant Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment, the Assistant Secretary for Science and Education, any other under or assistant secretaries the Secretary names, and the Director of the Office of Agricultural Environmental Quality, who is the Council’s Executive Director. The Secretary must pick a different member to serve as chair.
