§584 Exemptions

Summary
Small shipments of apples that are smaller than a carload, as the Secretary defines them, can be sent to any foreign country without following the rules in this chapter if the Secretary allows it. Apples packed in bulk containers can be shipped to Canada without following the rules in this chapter.

(a)In general
Apples in less than carload lots as defined by the Secretary may, in his discretion, be shipped to any foreign country without complying with the provisions of this chapter.
(b)Bulk containers
Apples may be shipped to Canada in bulk containers without complying with the provisions of this chapter.
