§5844 Definitions and Authorization of Appropriations

Summary
Defines three terms: "program" means the National Genetic Resources Program; "Secretary" means the Secretary of Agriculture; and "Director" means the Director of the National Genetic Resources Program. Funds are authorized to carry out the program: necessary sums for fiscal years 1991 through 2013, and $1,000,000 for each fiscal year 2014 through 2023.

(a)Definitions
For purposes of this subchapter:
(1)The term “program” means the National Genetic Resources Program.
(2)The term “Secretary” means the Secretary of Agriculture.
(3)The term “Director” means the Director of the National Genetic Resources Program.
(b)Authorization of appropriations
There are authorized to be appropriated to carry out this subchapter—
(1)such sums as are necessary for each of fiscal years 1991 through 2013; and
(2)$1,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2014 through 2023.
