Title 7 › Chapter 2— COTTON STANDARDS › § 60
Knowingly breaking the rules in sections 52 or 59 is a crime. A licensed person also commits a crime if they knowingly misclassify cotton, forge or falsify a classification certificate, or take money or other payment in return for neglecting or doing their job poorly in a commercial shipment. It is also illegal to improperly influence or try to influence a licensee, or to assault, resist, or interfere with employees under this chapter. If convicted, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor and can be fined up to $1,000, jailed up to six months, or both, as the court decides.
