Title 7 › Chapter 91— LIME PROMOTION, RESEARCH, AND CONSUMER INFORMATION › § 6202
Defines the words used for the lime research, promotion, and consumer information program. Board is the Lime Board created under section 6204(b). Consumer information is actions that teach the public about using, caring for, and the nutrition of limes. Handle is selling, buying, or packing limes. Handler is a business person who handles limes. Importer is someone who brings limes into the United States. Lime is the fresh fruit from a citrus latifolia tree. Marketing is selling or otherwise putting limes into the marketplace. Order is the lime research, promotion, and consumer information order the Secretary issues under section 6203(a). Person is an individual or any business or legal group. Producer is someone who grows limes in the United States to sell. Producer‑handler is a person who both grows and handles limes. Promotion is activities, including paid ads, to improve limes’ image and sales. Research is studies about lime use, nutrition, quality, or marketability. Secretary is the Secretary of Agriculture. State and United States each include the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
