§6210 Suspension and Termination

Summary

The Secretary must stop or pause any order made under section 6203(a) if the Secretary finds the order gets in the way of, or does not help, the goals of this law. The Secretary may also hold votes from time to time to ask lime producers, producer-handlers, and importers whether an order should continue, be stopped, or be paused. The Secretary must hold a vote if the Board asks or if at least 10 percent of the affected producers, producer-handlers, and importers petition for one. An order will be stopped or paused at the end of the marketing year only if a majority of voters favor it and those voters account for more than 50 percent of the lime volume produced and imported by voters. Stopping or pausing an order is not itself treated as an “order” under the law.
