Title 7 › Chapter 95— RURAL REVITALIZATION THROUGH FORESTRY › Subchapter II— NATIONAL FOREST-DEPENDENT RURAL COMMUNITIES › § 6611
Provides targeted help to rural communities near National Forest land that depend on forest products and services. It notes many of these towns have few types of businesses—especially those based mostly on timber and recreation—and that Forest Service staff have the know-how and resources to help update and broaden local industries. The Department of Agriculture can give technical help, training, education, and other support to the communities that need it most. The goal is to assist those communities, help them build new kinds of businesses, and improve their economic, social, and environmental health.
