Title 7 › Chapter 97— FRESH CUT FLOWERS AND FRESH CUT GREENS PROMOTION AND INFORMATION › § 6803

Last updated Apr 3, 2026|Official source

Summary

The Secretary must issue one national order that applies to qualified handlers of cut flowers and cut greens, and only one such order can be in effect at a time. The Secretary can start a proposed order, or an industry group that represents a substantial number of the people who would be charged, or anyone else who would be affected, can ask for and submit a proposed order. When a proposal is filed or made, the Secretary must publish it and allow public comment within 60 days after the earlier of those two dates. After looking at the comments, the Secretary must issue an order that follows the chapter and make it effective within 180 days after the proposed order is published. The Secretary may later amend an order, and the same rules apply to any amendment.
