§7466 Permissive Terms in Order

Summary

An order can let the Kiwifruit Board, with the Secretary’s OK, include certain optional rules and any other needed rules that do not conflict with the program. The order can allow different payment and reporting schedules for handlers to match different marketing practices. It can let the Board form working groups of producers, handlers, importers, exporters, or the public to help plan research and marketing for kiwifruit. The order can let the Board build reserve funds from assessments to keep research, promotion, and consumer information programs running when income falls, but the reserve may not exceed the amount budgeted to operate the program for 1 year. With the Secretary’s approval, the Board can also use assessment money and other funds to help sell U.S. kiwifruit in foreign markets.
