§1382 Acceptance and Administration of Gifts for Immigration Integration Grants Program

Summary

Starting in fiscal year 2017 and every year after, the Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services may seek, accept, manage, and use gifts (including donated property) to run a grants program and related activities that promote citizenship and help immigrants integrate. All money received must be placed in a separate account in the Treasury’s general fund called the "Citizenship Gift and Bequest Account." Money in that account stays available until it is spent, and it is in addition to any funds Congress provides for those grants or activities.
