Title 8 › Chapter 12— IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY › Subchapter IV— REFUGEE ASSISTANCE › § 1523
The Secretary must send a report on work under this subchapter to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees by January 31 after each fiscal year, starting with fiscal year 1980. Each report must cover eight topics. It must give updated employment and labor-force data for refugees who arrived in the last five fiscal years and for earlier refugees who heavily rely on welfare, and say what services they got. It must say where refugees live; summarize monitoring and evaluation under section 1522(a)(7); describe Office, State, agency, and sponsor activities, spending, and improvement plans; evaluate whether services help refugees become self-sufficient, learn English, and get jobs and note any fraud or mismanagement; describe help given under section 1522(e)(5); summarize locations and status of unaccompanied refugee children; and summarize the information compiled under section 1522(a)(8).
