Title 8 › Chapter 16— IMMIGRATION FEES › § 1811
You must pay a fee when you apply to renew or extend work permission based on Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The work permission will be valid for one year or for as long as the TPS designation lasts, whichever is shorter. For fiscal year 2025, the fee is whichever is larger: $275 or an amount the Secretary of Homeland Security sets by rule. For fiscal year 2026 and later, the fee equals the previous year’s fee plus an increase equal to the percent change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI‑U) for July compared with the same month the year before, with the result rounded down to the nearest $10. Twenty-five percent of these fees will go to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and be placed in the Immigration Examinations Fee Account to be used without another appropriation. Any remaining money goes into the Treasury’s general fund. These fees cannot be waived or reduced and are in addition to any other required fees.
