Title 9 › Chapter 2— CONVENTION ON THE RECOGNITION AND ENFORCEMENT OF FOREIGN ARBITRAL AWARDS › § 205
Defendants may move a state-court case into the federal district court for that district if the dispute involves an arbitration agreement or award under the Convention, any time before trial. Normal removal rules apply, and the removed case is treated as if it were filed in federal court; the reason for removal can be shown in the removal petition rather than only in the complaint.
