What Liberty Media Corporation (Formula One Group) told the SEC could break it.
Liberty's motorsport value rests on governing-body rights: MotoGP depends entirely on an exclusive FIM rightsholder agreement to operate its championship (recorded as a $1,653 million intangible), and Formula 1's value similarly hinges on its FIA-sanctioned championship rights, so a loss or non-renewal would be existential. Its revenue is also concentrated in broadcaster media-rights deals — about 31% of Formula 1 and 41% of MotoGP total revenue — making renewal terms and broadcaster demand central to results. And it is absorbing a major acquisition: it bought roughly 84% of MotoGP (Dorna) for about $3,659 million in July 2025, funded partly with $1.0 billion of incremental term loans, bringing integration and added-leverage risk to the new segment.

SEC filing →As of 2026 - media-rights revenue concentration (broadcasters)medium
Media (TV/broadcast) rights are a major revenue source — ~31.3% of Formula 1 and ~41.2% of MotoGP total revenue — concentrated in multi-year broadcaster agreements (TRAs/contracts), so renewal terms and broadcaster demand drive results.
