8 public companies told the SEC they depend on Japan.

If Japan is disrupted, these are the companies that said, in their own filings, it could hurt them — a deterministic read, every line cited. Some may be in your portfolio.

    • Substantially all of our flash-based memory wafers are manufactured by the Flash Ventures in purpose-built, wafer fabrication facilities, that they lease, located in Yokkaichi and Kitakami, Japan.

    • substantially all of our long-lived assets and revenues generated were attributed to the Company's operations in Japan.

    • A large portion of the cash available for reinvestment each year is deployed in Japanese yen-denominated instruments and subject to the low level of Japanese yen interest rates. Lack of availability of acceptable Japanese yen-denominated investments could adversely affect the Company's results of operations, financial position or liquidity. The Company aims to match both the duration and currency of its assets with its liabilities. This is very difficult for Aflac Japan and Aflac Re due to the lack of available long-dated Japanese yen-denominated fixed income instruments beyond JGBs.

    • approximately 7% of our revenues for the twelve months ended December 31, 2025 are denominated in other currencies, primarily in Japanese yen. A hypothetical 10% change in the value of the Japanese yen relative to the U.S. dollar would result in a 1% change in our revenues.

    • Almost all revenues from external customers of the Group were generated in Japan, which is the Company's country of domicile, for the years ended March 31, 2023, 2024 and 2025. In addition, the assets of the Group were primarily located in Japan, as of March 31, 2024 and 2025.

    • With respect to Prudential of Japan and Gibraltar Life, the Company's most significant international insurance subsidiaries, both of which are domiciled in Japan, Japan law provides that common stock dividends may be paid in an amount of up to 83 % of prior fiscal year statutory after-tax earnings, after certain reserving thresholds are met, including providing for policyholder dividends.

    • In addition, our subcontractor may purchase magnets for our disposable interventional devices directly from a manufacturer in Japan.

    • A significant portion of the Company's revenue is derived from licensees headquartered outside of the U.S., principally in Asia Pacific and Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
