Summary

Starting January 15, 2025, the Federal Maritime Commission is raising its fines a bit to keep up with inflation. If you deal with maritime rules, expect penalties to be about 2.6% higher this year. This keeps the fines fair and tough enough to discourage rule-breaking without being outdated by rising prices.
