30-Year Right‑of‑Way for 600+ MW Solar
The Bureau of Land Management approved a 30-year right-of-way on January 3, 2025 to build a utility-scale solar project on 3,495 acres of BLM-administered public land (plus 38 county acres) in La Paz County, Arizona. The project may include up to 1.2 million solar modules and a generation capacity of 600 megawatts or more, and it is authorized for construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Road and Powerline Construction Near I‑10
The approved project includes new and improved roads and powerlines to collect and transmit electricity to the Cielo Azul Switchyard, with construction activity near Interstate 10 in southeastern La Paz County (about 22 miles east‑southeast of Brenda and 30 miles west of Tonopah). The right-of-way covers construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning over a 30-year initial term.
