Low‑value Exemption Removed for Security‑linked Goods
If you import goods worth $800 or less, shipments that are subject to specified trade or national security actions will be ineligible for the administrative low‑value exemption. That means those shipments cannot claim the exemption that normally applies to low‑value merchandise.
10‑Digit HTSUS Code Required for Exemptions
If you claim the administrative exemption for certain low‑value shipments, you must provide the 10‑digit Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) classification for the merchandise. Shipments claiming the exemption will need that detailed 10‑digit code included with their claim.
