Federal Push to Speed Alaska Resource Projects

Rollback of 2021–2025 Alaska Resource Restrictions
Agency heads were directed to rescind, revoke, revise, amend, defer, or grant exemptions from any agency actions issued between January 20, 2021 and January 20, 2025 that are inconsistent with the new Alaska development policy. This directive was issued January 20, 2025.
Facilitated King Cove Road Corridor Work
The Secretary of the Interior is directed to facilitate expedited development of a road corridor between the community of King Cove and the all-weather airport in Cold Bay to improve transportation access in that area. This action is directed in the January 20, 2025 order.
Review and Reversal of Alaska Roadless Rule
The Secretary of Agriculture is directed to place a temporary moratorium on activities authorized by the 'Special Areas; Roadless Area Conservation; National Forest System Lands in Alaska' final rule (88 Fed.
