Summary

Mercedes-Benz found a small brake system issue in some 2019-2020 CLA, A, GLA, and GLB models but convinced the government it’s not a big safety deal. So, no recalls or fixes are needed, and owners won’t face any costs or hassles. This decision keeps things smooth for both Mercedes and their drivers.

No Recall for Certain Mercedes Brakes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) granted Mercedes‑Benz's petition that a noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 135 (Light Vehicle Brake Systems) for certain model year 2019–2020 Mercedes‑Benz CLA‑Class, A‑Class, GLA‑Class, and GLB‑Class vehicles is inconsequential to motor vehicle safety. Mercedes‑Benz reported the noncompliance on January 27, 2020, and petitioned NHTSA on February 10, 2020; because NHTSA granted the petition, owners of the listed vehicles will not face recalls, repairs, or related costs or hassles under this decision.
