End of Duty-Free De Minimis Treatment
Under the amended Executive Order, duty-free de minimis treatment under 19 U.S.C. 1321 remains available for otherwise eligible covered articles in subsections (a) and (b) but will stop being available once the Secretary of Commerce notifies the President that adequate systems are in place to fully and expeditiously process and collect tariff revenue for those covered articles. The order was signed March 2, 2025 and the cessation is triggered by that Commerce Department notification.
