Up to $1,000 Federal Saver's Match

If you contribute to a qualifying IRA and are otherwise eligible, you are entitled to a Federal Saver's Match contribution of up to $1,000 under 26 U.S.C. 6433. The Secretary of the Treasury is directed to take steps to help ensure qualifying individuals receive the match and to encourage financial institutions to accept it.

New federal IRA website by 2027

You can use a new website called TrumpIRA.gov that the Treasury must establish by January 1, 2027. The site will focus on independent contractors, self-employed people, and other workers without employer retirement plans and will highlight low-cost, high-quality IRAs and the Federal Saver's Match of up to $1,000.

IRA fee cap and no minimums

IRAs listed on TrumpIRA.gov must offer certain investment menus (for example, life-cycle/target-date, balanced, or principal-protection funds), keep overall net-expense ratios at or below 0.15 percent, and not impose minimum-contribution or balance requirements. TrumpIRA.gov will let you filter and select IRAs based on those cost and quality criteria.

Worker protection and prohibited-transaction rules

The Treasury and the Department of Labor will issue regulations, exemptions, or guidance to ensure IRAs, including those listed on TrumpIRA.gov, protect workers, maintain transparency, and prevent prohibited transactions under 26 U.S.C. 4975. These actions are intended to keep workers' IRA accounts safer and more transparent.
