Summary

NOAA is asking for approval to keep collecting info from teachers and awardees involved in the Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) program. This helps them see how well the program is working to teach people about protecting our waters and oceans. About 2,583 folks will spend about an hour or less filling out surveys, with no new costs or big changes coming.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 3 costs, 0 mixed.

Teachers Must Complete Two Short Surveys

If you are a teacher who participates in a B-WET professional development program, you are asked to voluntarily complete two online surveys: one at the end of the professional development program (30 minutes) and another at the end of the following school year (30 minutes), for a total of about 1 hour per teacher.

Awardee Organizations Must Provide Annual Survey Response

One individual from each B-WET awardee organization is asked to voluntarily complete an online survey once per year, which takes about 60 minutes. Affected awardees include for-profit businesses, not-for-profit institutions, and state, local, or tribal government entities that receive B-WET grants or cooperative agreements.

Scale of NOAA's B-WET Data Collection

NOAA estimates 2,583 total respondents to the B-WET evaluation surveys and a total annual burden of 1,027 hours across all respondents. The data collection supports ongoing program monitoring and evaluation across funded regions.
