Notice
Summary
Cboe EDGX Exchange is raising the monthly fee for its 10 Gb physical ports starting now. This change affects anyone using these high-speed connections, meaning they’ll pay more each month for faster access. The new fees kicked in immediately after the filing on March 13, 2025, so users should check their bills and budgets!
Analyzed Economic Effects
4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
10 Gb Port Monthly Fee Rises $1,000
If your firm uses a 10 Gb physical port to connect to Cboe EDGX, the monthly fee increased from $7,500 to $8,500 per port. The increase took effect immediately when the Exchange filed the rule change on March 13, 2025, so you may see higher monthly bills going forward.
One Port Fee Covers Affiliates
A single monthly fee will be charged per 10 Gb physical port even if that one port is used to access EDGX and its affiliated exchanges. You will not be charged separate monthly port fees for each affiliate when using the same 10 Gb port.
Immediate Effect but Possible Suspension
The fee increase became effective immediately upon the March 13, 2025 filing, but the SEC may temporarily suspend the change within 60 days of filing. Public comments on the filing were invited and are to be submitted on or before April 21, 2025.
1 Gb Port Fee Remains $2,500
If your firm uses a 1 Gb physical port, the monthly fee remains $2,500 per port; the Exchange did not change the 1 Gb fee when it increased the 10 Gb fee. Firms with modest capacity needs can continue to use the 1 Gb option at the existing price.
