Analyzed Economic Effects
4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.
Land purchase, temporary workspace, eminent domain info
Northwest says it would purchase the parcels needed for the new compressor and meter stations in Cowlitz County, Washington, and would use about 0.8 acre of temporary workspace along the pipeline right-of-way. The FERC fact sheet provided to landowners addresses the use of eminent domain and explains how landowners can participate in the Commission's proceeding.
Residential site converted to compressor station
The project would install a new 5,500-horsepower electric compressor unit on a site in Cowlitz County that the notice says is currently residential in use. Construction would disturb about 4.8 acres total, including about 3.3 acres for the KB Compressor Station, and Northwest would maintain about 3.9 acres for permanent operation.
Public comment deadline and scoping session
You can comment on the project's environmental review by 5 p.m. eastern time on May 19, 2025. A public scoping session will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time at the Cowlitz County Event Center, 1900 7th Avenue, Longview, WA.
Affected landowners included on mailing list
FERC will include affected landowners on the project's environmental mailing list — that includes potential right-of-way grantors, owners whose property may be used temporarily, or who own homes within certain distances of aboveground facilities. The notice explains how to update or remove your name and gives an email and form for the request.
