Mandatory Inspections for Airbus Keel Beam

If you operate or maintain certain Airbus A318, A319, A320, or A321 airplanes, the FAA requires repetitive special detailed inspections (SDI) of the keel beam bottom panel between the edge profile and stringer run-out at a specified frame and stringer. You must perform the inspections and carry out any corrective actions required by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD that the FAA incorporated by reference. Operators are expected to act on the set inspection schedule to avoid costly repairs or flight delays.
