Directed Fishing Opened for Pacific Ocean Perch
The National Marine Fisheries Service opened directed fishing for Pacific ocean perch (POP) in the Bering Sea subarea of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area (BSAI). This action is intended to allow fishermen to fully use the 2025 total allowable catch (TAC) for POP in that subarea, creating more fishing opportunities in 2025.
